Pterodactyl Winged Lizard

Pteradactyl means “Winged Finger”.  The Pteradactyl had a wingspan of anywhere between a few inches up to over 40 feet long.  They are believed to have flown long distances using large wings and they had above average
eyesight to help them to catch their prey.  Paleontologists classify Pterodactyls as flying
reptiles and not dinosaurs. The Pterodactyl is a genus of Pterosaurs. It was the first to be named
and identified as a flying reptile. It was a carnivore and probably preyed upon fish and other small
animals. Like all Pterosaurs, the wings of the Pterodactyl were formed by a skin and muscle membrane
stretching from its elongated fourth finger to its hind limbs.
